Professional Activity

Professor PhD. Habil.

Prof. PhD. Habil. Cristi-Marcel Spulbăr graduated from the University of Craiova, Faculty of Economic Sciences, specializing in Finance and Credit, in 1995. He continued his studies with a Master's and PhD in the financial-banking field, obtaining a PhD in Economics from the University of Craiova in 1999. Building his academic profile since October 1995, he has also accumulated extensive experience as a practitioner in the financial sector Based on continuous education in finance, Dr. Cristi-Marcel Spulbar has also achieved a notable level of additional professional qualifications, including: investment consultant, economic and financial evaluator, securities agent, certified broker and trader on regulated markets for commodities and financial derivatives. Since 2016, he has been a PhD supervisor in Finance and a member of the "Eugeniu Carada" Doctoral School of Economic Sciences, as well as the director of the Center for Economic, Banking, and Financial Research (CEBAFI) at the University of Craiova. Since 2022, he has been an independent non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Exim Banca Romaneasca.

Currently, he teaches and conducts seminars for undergraduate programs in Finance and Banking, Management (courses in Bank Management and Corporate Lending), Master's programs in Finance (courses in Financial-Banking Intermediation and Evaluation of Financial Instruments), and PhD programs in Finance (course in Financial Systems and Markets).
